Tidbits from a peaceful day wandering Lincoln Road’s Antique Fair

Above are a few things that inspired and entertained me

I love that last half hour of sunlight when every shade of color debuts in a grand finale that spans the horizon. Now with the days getting longer I’ve been able to sneak out after work and sit on the warm stone benches down at South Point Park, watching the sunsets as Olive, my dog, stalks stray cats that stroll the boardwalk.

This past Sunday I made my very first trip to Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden, which is tucked away in a nook of South Miami. The earthy smells and faint whispers that filtered through the leaves put me in a dreamlike state for the remainder of the day. The perfect cap to the weekend!

For twenty-four I think I’ve seen a fair share of places around the globe but it wasn’t until this weekend when I visited a cabin buried in the mountains of Virginia that I truly realized how much culture and tradition so different than my own lay just across a few state borders.

Back in the Northeast for a week but remembering five days ago when I was in a house on stilts in the middle of Biscayne Bay. I hope they are decorated for the holidays when I get back!

Earlier this week I went to the non-profit Shake-A-Leg Miami {check out the site here} in Coconut Grove to check out its first Pop-Up Boutique & Café. Each vender was incredible and Shake-A-Leg even had its student’s art for sale.

One jeweler who stood out for me was Maria Teresa Loinaz Adams with Lamaritere. Her necklaces resembled rosaries and each piece that went into her art was carefully collected and crafted by Adams. I know what’s on my wish list this year!

The Design District lies on the skirts of the city and I have a feeling that this weekend’s Arboleda Fest was just the tip of the iceberg.
